Today we started our journey. Two weeks in a motor home with 4 adults and two kids.
By 9am we were on our way. Loaded up and ready to go. We made a quick stop at the Pine Cone and headed out from there.
First stop, Salmon Creek fish hatchery. There we saw 4 huge sturgeon! Ranging in size from 5-8 feet and aged 20-50 years! In the water with the sturgeon were trout. Everyone had fun feeding the fish and watching them swarm and fight for the food. There was a small museum with several large fish in a tank and a display of animals all native of Oregon. The kids loved naming all the animals and learning about the new ones from Papa and Grammy. When I asked the kids what their favorite part there was they both said, seeing the GIANT fish!
Next stop, Crater Lake.
We arrived at Crater Lake around 3:30 and the rain was just coming down like crazy and the wind was soooo cold. We hopped out and took a few token pictures but were just too cold to stay and look anymore. We drove a few miles further and found an even better lookout point. We got out there and the weather had calmed down quite a bit. The lookout was called Watchman's Point and has a great view of Wizards Island.
There we had our late lunch and were on our way.
We drove steady from there to Shasta where we stayed at a KOA.
The kids have been keeping busy with reading books with Grammy, coloring, and fighting with each other!
Tomorrow we head towards Yosemite!
PS These pictures are in no order at all. I don't know how to fix it.
this is great you guys!!!!
